Eldery receive Covid-19 shots as mass vaccination center opens in Tokyo

Members of Japan’s elderly community receive their Covid-19 shots as a new mass vaccination center opens in Tokyo in an effort to accelerate the country’s vaccination rollout amid a fourth wave of infections. The centers, run by the Self-Defense Forces, will operate for three months from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time, including weekends and national holidays. They will use the Moderna vaccine developed by the United States, which was approved by the government on Friday. Japan hopes the mass venues, aiming to inoculate up to 10,000 people a day in Tokyo.
