Guinea ist ein Staat in Westafrika, der an Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, Mali, die Elfenbeinküste, Liberia, Sierra Leone und den Atlantik grenzt. Ihre Unabhängigkeit erlangte die ehemalige französische Kolonie am 2. Oktober 1958. Trotz der vorhandenen Bodenschätze lebt der Großteil der Bürger in Armut, diese wurde durch die Diktatur Ahmed Sékou Tourés noch verstärkt. Die Hauptstadt von Guinea ist Conakry.
