US-Regisseur Sean Baker hat für seinen Film „Anora“ die Goldene Palmen beim Filmfestival in Cannes erhalten. Der zuvor als Favorit gehandelte iranische Filmemacher Mohammad Rasoulof wurde mit einem Sonderpreis der Jury ausgezeichnet.
Der US-Regisseur nahm den Preis für den besten Film entgegen, auf den er „sein ganzes Leben lang hingearbeitet“ hatte. „Anora“ ehrt Sexarbeiterinnen in aller Welt.
