Romanians begin voting in parliamentary elections which are being held in between two rounds of tightly-contested presidential polls. The vote for the new parliament in the EU and NATO member that shares a border with Ukraine comes a week after far-right candidate Calin Georgescu took a shock lead in the first round of presidential elections, with the run-off of those polls due on December 8.
