A plume of black smoke rises after a fire broke out in a slop pit (external area) at the Esmeraldas refinery in Ecuador, near the border with Colombia. According to Petroecuador, the fire is under control, and there are no injuries or impacts on the refinery’s normal operations. IMAGES
