46-year-old Christopher McEwen of Norwich, England was hit with a £2,000 ($2,724 USD) fine plus additional costs in court on February 13 after he was found to have illegally flown his drone between January and June, 2025 in several locations. Most notably, he flew over an active fire at an abandoned factory as emergency services attempted to extinguish the flames and regularly breached Norwich Airport’s flight restriction zone.
