Spanish police and navy units intercepted a cargo vessel carrying an estimated 6,500 kilograms (6.5 metric tons) of cocaine – worth an estimated $395 million – about 600 miles off the Canary Islands. The dramatic operation followed a DEA tip-off and led to nine arrests onboard the Tanzanian-flagged ship en route to Spain. Footage of the October 22 operation was released on Sunday.
