A three-year-old female gray wolf was detected wandering through the Los Angeles County, California wilderness on February 7. Wildlife authorities say this is the first time in at least 100 years that a wolf has been found in the region and are considering her appearance a ‚milestone‘ for wolf conservation. Trail camera footage and an image of the wolf were captured in 2025 when the wolf was collared with a satellite tracking device, alongside her pack.
