The Emirati head of the COP28 climate talks says that there is still „a lot to do“ for countries to finalise an agreement on fossil fuels after he proposed a draft deal. COP28 president Sultan Al Jaber had released a document that omits calls for a phase-out of fossil fuels and instead proposes „reducing“ their consumption and production in order to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. „We have made progress but we still have a lot to do,“ Jaber tells a plenary session of the UN climate talks in Dubai.
