Senegal Constitutional Council overturns delay to presidential vote

Senegal’s Constitutional Council overturns the postponement of this month’s presidential election, a move that plunged the country into its worst crisis in decades, the country’s public news agency and several anonymous state sources said. The Council said the law adopted by the parliament on February 5 — which delayed the election for 10 months and thus kept President Macky Sall in office — was unconstitutional, according to the same sources.
