New York firefighters used drones to guide a water rescue in the East River on October 25. FDNY’s Robotics Unit dropped bright yellow buoys to mark the spot where a person was struggling near the Queensboro Bridge – allowing Marine 6 to reach them quickly despite low visibility. The victim was brought to shore for treatment at the 92nd Street Ferry Terminal.
