A Russian couple who were the subjects of a 2024 documentary about ‚rooftopping‘ – the act of making unsecured climbs of tall structures – called Skywalkers: A Love Story, were arrested on July 1 after climbing the Empire State Building spire and unfurling a banner. The message read ‚When the power of love beats the love of power the world knows peace‘, an adaptation of a quote attributed to musician Jimi Hendrix.
