Researchers from NTU Singapore and Waseda University have developed miniature 3D-printed diving suits for remote-controlled cyborg cockroaches, allowing the insects to crawl underwater and through low-oxygen spaces for up to three hours in search of disaster survivors. The findings were published in the journal Nature Communications on June 29, with the technology already tested in simulated disaster environments and real-life rescue exercises in Singapore.
